Rest In Peace Brother. It is with great sadness that I say Goodby to a good Friend, Fellow Co-worker, and Fellow Fire Fighter. I will truly miss the honks as you would drive by and wave on your way to or from work, and especially the times you would stop and shoot the bull for a while. I will never forget the many years we spent fighting fires, and working together at the Penitentiary. We always had fun no matter what we were doing. Thank you for your service and dedication to people of Burleigh County, Bismarck Rural Fire District, and Department of Corrections. Your caring and kind heart will be missed by all. Till we meet again.

God Bless You Brother

Fire Fighter/CO-III Craig Theurer
Dept. of Corrections/Bismarck Rural Fire Dept.

While I was in the ICU unit this past Spring, Deputy Sleeper
came to visit several times offering assistance and encouragement. He went out of his way to help us and make sure we had everything we needed. Once I was out of ICU Bryan came to see me and introduce himself and to see how well I was doing. Bryan has checked on us from time to time.

Thank you again for your kindness to my family and myself. You displayed the true meaning of BROTHERHOOD. Thank you for your service, you are a warrior and HERO. You will not be fogotten. GOD speed.

With a heavy heart I type this. Bryan was a Volunteer Firefighter/EMT for the Bismarck Rural Fire Department, a Correctional Officer for the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and one of the finest Deputy Sheriff's I knew and had the privilege to work with. I am very honored to have worn the same uniform as you and serve the people of Burliegh County along with you. After I got the call this morning I went to the North Dakota Peace Officers Memorial on the state Capital grounds and read this passage to my self engraved on the marble panels:

GOOD MEN MUST DIE, BUT DEATH CANNOT KILL THEIR NAMES.
-PROVERBS

Bryan Sleeper was a good man. Thank you for you service to us and God Speed.
