To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 93rd anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

Rest in Peace, Night Marshal Ricketson. Your sacrifice is not forgotten.

Night Marshal Ricketson:
I also am happy that you are honored. It is very regretful that you have not received a place of Honor before now. Prior to August 2011 it was not known that an Officer from the City of Douglas had ever had an Officer Killed in the Line of Duty.
While my wife was helping me research the history of the Department, she said to me one afternoon very innocently, I also have found particular information on your Officer that was killed in the line of Duty back in 1920. My response was, “what Officer!” She replied, “I take it; you didn’t know?” and this is where the ball started rolling.
What remains hard for me, regarding your sacrifice, is the fact that you lie in an unmarked grave in the Sweet Water U.M.C. Cemetery.
Please know you were never forgotten! According to your Grandson, your mother kept the photograph used on this site with her until she went to meet you in Heaven.
You have my word Sir, I will continue to search for your final resting place and do what I can to see that you have a fitting memorial that honors your service and life.
Rest in Peace

Marshal Ricketson,
Sir, it has taken 91 years but you are finally being honored. I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of Douglas. It infuriates me that your murderer was acquitted.
