No matter how long we may have retired from our careers as police officers, it never, never, saddens us to see soemthing like this happen to one of our own. As police officers, we should be able to enjoy our careers as officers and do our jobs with pride and respect.
We should be able to retire and reflect back at our career with pride and being the greatest job in the world both the job itself and our relationships with fellow officers and friends and of course, family.
It should never, ever end like this for us regardless if its a possibility in our chosen careers.
Personally, after 37 years of service, not much affects me. Even death. But, whenever I see this, it just makes me so sad beyond words. One of the few things in life that really, really touches my heart and emotions.
Best wishes to his family and friends.

Ted Chun (Sergeant-Retired 2008)
