Reflections for Probation Officer Tiffany Danielle Bishop

Rest In Peace

Detective Giovanniello
NYPD

September 3, 2011

As the mother and family of Tara Drummond, a 23 year old young lady who suffered the same horrendous "accident" on Sept 13, 2005, I send my deepest sympathies to you. (Kennesaw PD, GA).

We met your lovely family today and we are here should you wish to talk. We spent two years after Tara's death trying to get stricter enforcement of safety policies in our Georgia training centers. Tiffany's death is such a sad testimony as to how far we still have to go. You are in our thoughts, prayers and hearts.

What a horrible event to have taken place. My heart goes to the Bishop Family during this heavy crisis that recently happened.
I pray that our gracious God will continue to warmly embrace this family as He continues to walk with them. As for Tiffany Danielle Bishop, she is before God now, while God saves the tears of her family in a jar never to forget this tragedy.

Remember, for now we take a day at a time, and for some, a moment at a time.

I am deeply saddened at the news of your death. Though I never met you personally, you were my sister. It is hard to understand why anyone so young has to die. It is even harder to understand when the circumstances are so tragic and NEVER should have happened. I am praying for your family and friends in this most difficult time. Rest in Peace Tiffany Bishop, a fallen hero of the Georgia Department of Corrections.

My prayers have been continuous since I heard this horrific news. Tiffany went to school with my daughter for years. Tiffany was a beautiful, friendly, kind-hearted girl and by high school had become such a wonderful young lady. My daughter, Savannah described her best "Tiffany always put everyone before herself". My memories of her are so joyful. She seemed to always be smiling. She was held in such high regard by her peers, teachers, and the other parents. My prayers will continue for Tiffany's family & friends. May you find peace in the amazing memories that are your treasures.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Officer Bishop.

When I read about firearms training accidents I am reminded of the words a former range officer used to say while he was giving his safety briefing at the beginning of training: "You are in one of the most dangerous situations you are ever going to be in -- Everyone is armed and shots are going to be fired."
