Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Trooper Frederick Freeman Guthrie, Jr.

God please watch over the family, friends, and loved ones in these most trying times. Rest easy now my Brother in Law, as your watch on this earth is over.......

Sgt. John L. Gulledge (Ret.)
Escambia County FL. Sheriffs Office

August 7, 2011

For Trooper Frederick F. Guthrie, Jr.:

Our duty as law officers takes us to incidents that present a threat to our lives in almost countless situations. Those cases where nature has it's way are among most regretful because they usually involve valiant attempts by officers to bring relief and aid to others during disasters. We regret that our brother Fred would be the next law officer to sacrifice his life in the service to others. We hope for success in the continued effort in the location of his remains.

We pray for Fred's family, friends, co-workers, and all who care about him. May they be ready to reach-out to one another in the days ahead.

We are proud to render Trooper Fred Guthrie, a soldier-of-the-law, a final salute.

Cpl. Ralph D. Fiorenza (Ret.)
Pennsylvania State Police

My deepest sympathy to the family of Trooper Guthrie, and my sincere prayers that he will very soon be recovered so they may have peace.

It is so difficult to understand why these things happen, but we can have peace in knowing that God can use all things for His glory. I pray that Fred's family will personally witness how God uses this situation to bring glory to His name, and that they will feel peace and honor in knowing that God used Fred for His purposes.
