I apologize for those among us who don't understand the tremendous responsiblity and role that our police play every day in making it safe for us to venture out of our houses. The world, for some of us old law-abiding folk, is getting to be a stranger and stranger place. Thank you, all of you, who, upon leaving home each day, have NO IDEA if you'll ever return.
