I was shocked to see this and to receive the e-mail notification. I am sorry for the loss the Terre Haute PD has experienced. I've been where they are and it hurts like hell. Brent, thank you for your service and the ultimate sacrifice. You are in Heaven now with a loving God and have no more pain. God Bless all involved.

I worked with Brent when we were both with the Vigo County Sheriff's Department. Brent was a great Officer, and a great freind. I remember when we had to bury a fellow Officer, Aaron Schoffstall, when he died in the line of duty, it wasn't easy then and it isn't going to easy now. Brent you will be missed. May you be at peace as you start your new tour of duty in Heaven. My prayers go out to you and the family.

I recently lost my son Kyle while he was attempting to locate a fugitive with his K9 Jynx. He too was a K9 Officer and was attached to the US Marshall's. I know the pain the family is feeling at this time and our thoughts and prayers are with them for all time. Officer Long RIP, and thank you for your service.
