Reflections for Police Officer Ryan Embert Stringer

Officer Stringer,

A portion of the Interstate 10 freeway in Alhambra has been dedicated to you in your memory.

As I drive past the memorial, I am reminded of the great service California Peace Officers continue to provide each and everyday. Thank you for your service and may you rest in peace.

Everyday in our patrol briefing we honor a fallren officer on the aniversary of their death. Today as I looked at ODMP I was taken back to last year. While working LAPD Hollenbeck Division, I remember the loss of Officer Stringer clearly. Today my watch honored Officer Stringer's memory and acknowledge the ultimate sacrafice he gave.

To Ryan's family, you are in my heart's embrace today. I share your anquish in losing a beloved family member which surely has to be life's greatest sorrow.

This was your family's first Christmas without you. They are all in my thoughts and prayers during these difficult days.

I come to the ODMP often to remember my late fiance Dennis. Every time I come here it breaks my heart to know that yet another officer has fallen and that yet another family has to live their lives without the officer they loved. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Officer Stringer. Know that you are not alone in the "journey" that you walk. Should you ever need anything please don't hesitate to contact me. (The Davis Co. Sheriff's Office in Iowa will always know how to reach me. I can also be found on Face Book.) You will be in my thoughts.

From reading the reflections left for Ryan he sounds like he was a great man with a beautiful spirit. Those of you who knew him in life were so blessed to have been able to share in it. I hope that you will all continue to find a way to celebrate and remember Ryan's life and the MAN that he was. Remember that Ryan's life was about so much more than the way he died. Ryan will continue to live on as long as we continue to remember him.

Officer Stringer, thank you for helping to make this world a little safer for us all. YOU will not be forgotten. Please continue to watch over all of us as only you can. If you happen to bump into my late fiance Dennis up there give him a big hug for me and the kids. It's been eight & a half years and he's still very much missed and forever loved.

Wishing you brighter and better days,

Jocelyne :)

Ryan, I sit here crying thinking of how much I miss you. It's been 2 months and we still wait for you to come in the door and tell us how your day was. We are so proud of you for the man you are and the people who have told us about the nice things you have done while at work. Missed the dove hunting opener with you this year. Rest in peace with our Lord and someday we will be together again. You are still my Hero. Love to my Son, Dad.
