We all hear about our fellow fallen brethren but losing a fellow offcer never sinks in until you see it first hand. I was there while EMS was preparing Trp. Wall for transport and it made me realize just how precious life is and how short it can be. Our prayers go out to all his fellow troopers and family. Every day you come home hug and kiss your family and never take them for granted. Thank God at the end of every shift for returning home from another safe day.

Our heads are bowed this week as we honor the memory of this State Trooper, one of our own. He gave his life escorting our nation's finest - the United States Thunderbirds. These flying aces honored Andy's memory today by flying their show with his name on their cockpits.

Rest in peace, our friend, you brought honor and respect to our uniform doing what you loved........

May God bless your family, fellow Troopers, and friends.....

David W. Purkey, Assistant Commissioner
TN Department of Safety & Homeland Security
