I come to the ODMP often to remember my late fiance Dennis. Every time I come here it breaks my heart to know that yet another officer has fallen and that yet another family has to live their lives without the officer they loved. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Officer Tirado. Know that you are not alone in the "journey" that you walk. Should you ever need anything please don't hesitate to contact me. (The Davis Co. Sheriff's Office in Iowa will always know how to reach me. I can also be found on Face Book.) You will be in my thoughts.

From reading the reflections left for Rolando, he sounds like he was a great man with a beautiful spirit. Those of you who knew him in life were so blessed to have been able to share in it. I hope that you will all continue to find a way to celebrate and remember Rolando's life and the MAN that he was. Remember that Rolando's life was about so much more than the way he died. Rolando will continue to live on as long as we continue to remember him.

Officer Tirado, thank you for helping to make this world a little safer for us all. YOU will not be forgotten. Please continue to watch over all of us as only you can. If you happen to bump into my late fiance Dennis up there give him a big hug for me and the kids. It's been eight years and he's still very much missed and forever loved.

Wishing you brighter and better days,

Jocelyne :)

Take him and cut him out in little stars
And he will make the face of heav'n so fine

Sir, as I read the reflections left by friends and family, I can see that you were a selfless person, one who served without exception and one who will be missed. You dedicated your life to serving other, first as a Marine, and then as a P.O. I pray that your family and friends, co-workers and the community you served will find peace and remember and honor your LIFE. It would have been a privilege to have known you. God bless your department and all who serve.

Rolando,

We had your service tonight and its clear how much you will be missed. Your smile, humor, and kindness will be missed by all. You touched so many lives. The PD and community are rallying around Ana and the kids and they will be taken care of. Mike, Jeff and Armando performed flawlessly as the honor guard and Darren volunteered to guard you overnight. It was an honor to have known you and to have lived by your side.

Rolando,

You will truly be missed. No one has every made me laugh at myself the way you did. I will miss you talking about how athletic and attractive you are, freezing and shivering when its 75 degrees, talking so fast it gave me a headache, your extensive cologne collection, and all of the little quirks that made you stand out in a crowd. "I will not miss your driving"

We all love you like a brother and it hurts deeply to know you are gone.

For Police Officer Rolando Tirado:

The law officer perseveres in a world that is too full of individuals who bring crime, death and misery to a general populace of true Americans. Rolando stood as a protector and shield of such people while he worked extra hours to provide for himself and those close to him. We regret that he would have a fate that would include being slain by scum in our society. We are thankful for an equally brave partner who was able to exact some justice for Roalando.

We pray for Rolando's family, friends, co-workers and all who care for him and hope they reach-out to one another in the days ahead. We now rely upon our criminal justice system for futher disposition in this case.

We also pray for the full-recovery of Rolando's partner who we deem tremendously courageous and superbly self-disciplined in the face of terror and mayhem.

We are proud to Officer Rolando Tirado a final salute.
