Couldn't leave a room you were in, without smiling! You had the best jokes, texts, anything to lighten the mood when we encountered the unthinkable…you will be missed, EZ! I know you’ll continue to watch over us all, and we will continue to do the mission on the home-front, until we meet again on the high-ground. You were a true Warrior…Rest In Peace, Brother!

I never had the privilege of meeting or knowing PSO Zapata, but I knew him extremely well by his character. What kind of man runs toward a report of a "man with a gun" or that of "shots fired"? The kind of man that would choose to place himself in harms way for others....A POLICE OFFICER.
Eric received a radio call of just that "man with a gun" & "shots fired" and as a police officer he did his duty and responded into harms way. It is said that bravery doesnt mean your not scared....it means you go anyway. Eric's actions exemplify bravery, and he will always be remembered as such.

God Bless & God Speed
