I worked many nights at ETMC doing ER security or watching a POW with Deputy Britton. He always came in with a smile and if you didnt have one before he got there, you did soon after he arrived! He was always telling a joke or funny story and made the long nights go by faster. One night he kept showing me old Barney Fife clips on the computer. He just laughed whole heartedly at each one which in turn made me laugh even harder!

Deputy Britton - I served 30 years in a big city agency, then relocated to a small Colorado department. My first solo call, off of FTO, was "cow in the roadway." After learning the circumstances of your death, I know that from now on I won't be turning my back on those beasts, ever. My deepest condolences to your kids and co-workers. Thank you for your service to the people of Smith County and the State of Texas. May God grant you eternal rest and may His perpetual light shine upon you.

I will forever miss our joke sessions in the break room when I worked at ETMC. You were a good man with a kind heart and knew just what to say at the right time. When I made the big move to the Hill Country you wished me well and we talked for about an hour. You will be missed my friend.

I worked with Robert at Arlington P.D. I am so saddened to hear of his passing. You may have been having a bad day, but Robert could change that quickly with a joke. I'm sure Robert had his bad days, but I never knew it. He was always smiling and joking. Thanks for all the laughs and the friendship we had at APD!
