Reflections for Police Officer Jermaine Anthony Gibson

God didn’t promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain; but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears and light for the way.

Rest in peace.

Jermaine you were family to us even though not by blood. You and Brian were like twins separated at birth. I am so proud to have known you and the man you became. As a Marine in the Iraq war receiving two purple hearts for injuries sustained there. Next a Police Officer, something you were destined to be. Last a father and husband. There are no words that can take away the pain we feel or your lovely family. But God Bless you and God Bless them during this time. You are now our Guardian Angel. You will forever be in my heart. love you so much!!

I met Jermaine when he and my nephew were Police Explorers for the Vallejo Police Dept. I watched him grow into a fine young man and went was very proud of him when he enlisted in the Marine Corps. He was a two time recipient of the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in Iraq war. And then he came home and became a Police Officer. I am so saddened by the loss of this man but proud that he was doing what he loved and that was being a police officer. I love you Jermaine and will keep you in my heart forever.

Matt and I are filled with sadness beyond belief. I always enjoyed hearing updates on you and your career and family. I was always excited to tell people "That's my bro-in-law!!!" when you were on Cops :) I was so proud of you for going into the military and serving our country with such pride. I'll never forget your love for Lil' Wayne or gumbo for Christmas at your moms house. Matt loved you so much.... You both had that childlike love for your job that kept your bond tight. Watch over him now as he patrols the streets of the city you both called home growing up. We'll be here for your mom and Polo... You'll be forever in our hearts bro. May junior grow up knowing what an honorable man you were. And may god be with your family and wrap his arms around them...
