On the night they found you there, your life was taken without a care. As every brother and sister arrived, uncontrollably we wept, we cried. Knowing we have to make a start, to fill the void deep within our heart. Even tho' you have left us behind, you'll always be with us in heart, spirit, and mind. Reunited one day we shall be, No longer victims on the 'Streets of Misery'. But til' the day we meet again, We will cherish the memories of our brother, our friend. Not gonna' sit at your grave and cry, instead we will smile, lookin' up to the sky. You'll be up where all angels in blue go, protecting your brothers and sisters below.

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

My thoughts and prayers go out to your family. I will miss you more than words can say. RIP my dear friend.

Jermaine,
I worked briefly with you when you were at Rialto. I remember you starting and hitting the ground running. You were very tenacious and eager to go out to hook and book. You'll be missed by all of your Rialto Family. Your memory will never be forgotten and I promise we'll always be there for Jessica and Jermaine Jr. Rest in peace my friend.

I am an 81 year old Grandma living in Georgia and not connected with Officer Gibson other than I have such a high regard for ALL our officers and firemen that devote their lives, unconditionally, to the keeping of laws and safety of local citizens regardless of the county or state we live in.
My heart breaks for both his wife and family of Officer Gibson as well as the family of Officers and staff left behind at the Cathedral Police Station. My sincere condolences and may Gods' peace cover you all.

I headed up the oral board panel for Jermaine's interview when he was hired at Rialto Police Department. Jermaine had the top score that day and was shortly thereafter hired at RPD. Jermaine was a humble United States Marine and the skills he learned as a Marine helped him rise to the top during his interview. Because Jermaine's last name was GIBSON and my is GIBBONS, we used to get mail, subpoenas and phone messages belonging to each other. Jermaine and I used to joke with each other because of this and I would call him "Son" and he would call me "Dad". Jermanine later transfered to Cathedral City Police Department. I happened to see Jermanine a couple of weeks ago and after a short visit I said "I'll see you later son" and he replied, "Good-bye dad". Little did I know that would be our last meeting. May GOD bless you Jermaine, your family, and may you rest in peace.

First, I would like to give my condolences to Jermaine's wife and to his precious son. My hearts breaking for you both. Also to his mother and brother who I got to call my own family... I can't stop thinking of you all.

Jermaine, I sit here and ask myself why you?? I can remember the 2 things you always wanted.... One was to be on COPS and the other was to have a son and have him be a JR. I have comfort in knowing you got to fulfill those 2 things. You were one of the funniest people I ever met and I look back at all the precious laughs we shared and I am so thankful to have been a part of your life. People say you loved what you did but I honestly know you LOVED being a police officer. You conquered Iraq just so you could come back to what you loved. All I have is my memories and I promise to hold on to those dearly. You are a hero and I have always thought of you as one. Watch over my brother... You guys shared the same love for the work and he cherished your friendship. Keep him safe. Thank you. Thank you for all the learning experiences you gave me... All the life lessons we learned. Thank you for being you and my life is better knowing I was able to have you be such a huge part of it. You will never be forgotten. This I promise. You are loved and will be missed more than you know.

My brother in law is retired from Cathedral City Police Department and my sister in law works for the department. As a Marine myself and proud former member of the California Highway Patrol I want to express my sincere regrets for this grave loss of a good man and true Hero. You served both our country while a memeber of the Finest Fighting organization in the world and a brother to all veterans. Your service to the citizens of your beautiful city will always be remembered. Semper Fi brother and may God be with you and always know that your brother and sister Marines as well as your entire law enforcement family will never forget your service.

Another tragic addition to a terrible year of loss in Law Enforcement.

My heart aches for all who love and miss this young man, but especially for his baby, who will never get to have his daddy in his life. All because some stupid POS decided to try and escape the law.

You will be in my prayers, little one.
