"Silver Star"

One of our own was taken today. And into the eternal arms of our God he will rest. He did not wake up that morning, thinking that this day will be my last. But yet and still he was one of our own. I did not know him, but I do know that he carried a Silver Star. Therefor this person was my brother. He raised his right hand one day with pride, with that Silver Star, and declared , that he will protect and defend against all enemies, foreign or domestic. "The Silver Star runs the show." That's my motto, and I hope that motto runs true for all who carries this Silver Star. And let me make it very clear so that I will not be misunderstood, we will hunt for you, we will seek you out, we will search the four corners of this earth. We will leave no stone unturned, until we have captured you, or that you and others, "have met a different fate." You will know who we are, United States Marshals, and "The Silver Star runs the show."

If today is to be THE DAY, so be it.
If you seek to do battle with me this day,
you will receive the best that I am capable of giving.
It may not be enough, but it will be everything that
I have to give and it will be impressive, for I
have constantly prepared myself for this day.
I have trained, drilled, and rehearsed my actions
so that I might have the best chance of defeating you.
I have kept myself in peak physical condition,
schooled myself in the martial skills and have
become proficient in the application of combat tactics.
You may defeat me, but you will pay a severe price
and will be lucky to escape with your life.
You may kill me, but I am willing to die if necessary.
I do not fear Death, for I have been close enough to it
on enough occasions that it no longer concerns me.
But I do fear the loss of my Honor and would rather die
fighting than to have said that I was without courage.
So, I WILL FIGHT YOU,
no matter how insurmountable it may seem
and to the death if need be,
in order that it may never be said of me that I was not a WARRIOR!

John,

I only met you briefly in Dallas last August at the crimes against children conference but you left an every lasting impression on me. You were running around with K.C. and you made me laugh with your jokes and humor. I am very thankful for those brief moments that we chatted.

Not 3 weeks ago I lost a friend and co-worker in the same way. I was just starting to be able to talk about Derek and then this happens.... I haven't removed the mourning band from Dereks funeral and now I will keep it there longer to remember you.

Rest easy brother, you've done your job. We'll take it from here.

Blue Falcon,

You were an outstanding Deputy, a great father, and great friend. I can't remember a single time from the Academy to DC involving you that didn't have you making us all laugh and enjoy being on the job. You looked out for friends of mine returning from the Sandbox to the STL area - just as you covered all of our backs way back at Super Court. One of a kind, brother... that's you.
