Reflections for Detective John M. Falcone

Having worked in PD long way back, I know the dangers of being shot at or so forth. My heart and sincere prayers for the parent and the next of kin that may his soul rest in peace and especially doing the last thing honorably in saving that 3 year old kids life in exchange for his life. May the Great almightly welcome him with open arms for John saved one of Gods children. Amen!

It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.

I just read the story of the passing of Officer Falcone. I try to play scenario after scenario of "what would I do?" everyday as a patrol, or prepare for patrol. As best as we can, we cannot control what will happen, and we all can only pray God is our partner on the day we have to amek the tough choices. Last friday, Officer Falcone made the tough choice, and it took him away from this earth. He did it to save a child and to stop a disturbed person.

We can all mourn him, but we can not forget his valiant decision to take on that tough choice. Despite the sadness and the terrible price, a baby is alive to one day say someone brave stood up for them.

To his family, friends, co-workers, and the City of Poughkeepsie, you lost a brave man last friday. Keep him in your hearts as you go about your lives....
