I was honored to attend your service, as part of our memorial unit...You are a hero to the State Of Florida...and it is apparent, just how much you were respected and loved by Family, Friends, and Co-Workers.
May God Guide and Protect you on your Journey Home...Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God! Matthew 5-9

Our Colonel,

If tears could build a stairway
and thoughts a memory lane
I'd walk right up to heaven
and bring you home again
No Farewell words were spoken
No time to say good-bye
You were gone before I knew it
And only God knows why.

My heart's still active in sadness
And secret tears still flow
What it meant to lose you
No one can ever know.
But now I know you want us
To mourn for you no more
To remember all the happy times
Life still has much in store.

Since you'll never be forgotten
I pledge to you today
A hallowed place within my heart
Is where you'll always stay.

God knows why, with chilling touch,
Death gathers those we love so much,
And what now seems so strange and dim,
Will all be clear, when we meet Him.
I Knew you for a Moment

We will miss you everyday.

For Corrections Officer Colonel Greg Malloy:

There are times in our careers, when regardless of what rank we sport on our sleeve or our collar, that we must act as the basic law officer. Not everyone who wears high rank is willing to step onto the battlefield - but, Greg has valiantly demonstrated his courage. We regret that it was at so great a cost. We admire him for his dedication and his widely-respect him for his willingness to be just a law man.

We also pray for his family, friends, co-workers and all who care about him. We are thankful for those who succeeded in bringing down his killer. Their courage, too, does not go unrecognized.

As a retired state trooper and a Lake County (FL) deputy sheriff, I am proud to render Col. Greg Malloy a final salute.

Cpl. Ralph D. Fiorenza (Ret.)

When tomorrow starts without me
And I'm not there to see;
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
All filled with tears for me.
I wish so much you wouldn't cry
The way you did today;
While thinking of the many things
We didn't get to say.

I know how much you love me
As much as I love you;
And each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too.
But when tomorrow starts without me
Please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name
And took me by the hand.

She said my place was ready
In heaven far above;
And that I'd have to leave behind,
All those I dearly love.
But as I turned to walk away,
A tear fell from my eye;
For all my life, I'd always thought
I didn't want to die.

I had so much to live for,
So much yet to do;
It seemed almost impossible,
That I was leaving you.
I thought of all the yesterdays,
The good ones and the bad;
I thought of all the love we shared,
And all the fun we had.

If I could relive yesterday
Just even for awhile,
I'd say goodbye and kiss you
And maybe see you smile.
But then I fully realized
That this could never be;
For emptiness and memories
Would take the place of me.

And when I thought of worldly things
I might miss come tomorrow;
I thought of you, and when I did,
My heart was filled with sorrow.
But when I walked through heaven's gates
I felt so much at home;
When God looked down and smiled at me
From His great golden throne.

He said, "This is eternity
And all I've promised you;
Today your life on earth is past,
But here it all starts anew."
"I promise no tomorrow,
But today will always last;
And since each day's the same day,
There's no longing for the past."
"But you have been so faithful,
So trusting and so true;
Though at times you did do things,
You knew you shouldn't do."
"But you have been forgiven
And now at last you're free;
So won't you take my hand
And share my life with me?"

So when tomorrow starts without me,
Don't think we're far apart
For every time you think of me,
I'm right here in your heart.

Chief,
Our time together is done for now, our mission is complete.... for a time we were unbeatable, nothing passed among us undetected. My days were measured by the coming and going of your footsteps. I anticipated them at every opening of the gate. You were the voice of caring and kind hands when I was ill. The voice of authority when I had done wrong and the first to praise me on a job well done. When we meet again, I will gladly take up your fight. I am your K-9 Unit Dog and together we are guardians of the night.
