I remember backing you on a stop the day before.. I was excited to have you on our shift. Your hard working reputation preceded you. I remember the great time a group of us had a few years before at the Bears game in Chicago. It is our honor to have met you and such a loss to our department and our city to have lost you. Although 01/23/2011 was and always will be a dark and painful day....I choose to be thankful to have known you and thankful that you are true warrior. May God grant your family and friends peace.. Thank you Rest in Peace David....

This is the most handsome photo we've ever seen. No wonder his Father discribed him as their "Pride & Joy". We are so very sorry for the Families loss. What a tragic loss for the state of Indiana.

Oh, David Moore. I was so sorry when I heard the news. I prayed & prayed for a miracle. I know you are at peace & peace you deserve. Thank you for always being so nice to me in high school. You were never afraid to stand up for your beliefs & were never influenced or intimidated by the beliefs of others.... What a good man you were! A true & natural leader. You will be remembered as a hero. I will continue to pray for your family & the countless friends and co-workers that you have left behind.

God Bless & until we meet again...
Your old friend, Lori

Officer Moore, I SALUTE your dedication, your strength and your character as an outstanding Police Officer to your community, you've made your parents very proud.

Your organ donations will no doubt assist many other families, a gift that can not be measured except through the love they now have for your caring gift.

My badge represents that there are laws in our land, that I am sworn to uphold. Each time I put on my uniform, I know not what activities are before me, or the dangers I may face. My authority and duty I do not treat lightly, as I wear my uniform with Pride, Integrity and Honor.

Every time I leave my home to go 10-41, I realize, something could go wrong, and that, despite my wishes, I may not come home.

Some people wonder why so many Officers converge on towns across this nation, when an Officer is killed in the Line of Duty. I can simply say, that they come to pay respects to someone who did the job they do, in support of other Officers, as a show of respect to family, and to show Pride, Integrity and Honor for a fallen hero whose community has lost a friend. I have attended way too many of these but if you shed a tear for another, it will help cleanse your soul. It is our memories that will get you through the years.

Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death and though I mark on duty, my calls unknown, I fear no evil, for the majority are with me, nor do I worry of my own safety, all of this I do for the citizens of my community. An Officer’s family can be filled with worry and though they are strong, they know that their loved one may be placed in harms way. Through this, they stand tall, with Pride, Integrity and Honor.

Though I have made mistakes, accept me, as I accept you and show me the way …..Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

Pride is what you show through self-respect and conduct, Integrity is proven through honest action and character, while Honor is exceptional recognition given to you by another.

To all Law Enforcement, risking your life for the benefit of others and who are trying to make a difference, may God bless and keep you safe,

RIP IMPD Officer David Moore
