Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host -
by the Divine Power of God -
cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits,
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Dave was always quick with a laugh and smile, the first guy to rib you about something and make you laugh at yourself along with him.

When I first hit the street he was one of the cops I wanted to be like. He was just a source of positive energy, you could feel the life in him both on and off the job. Nothing seemed to weigh him down.

Dave, you were one of the best of us.

Dave –

I just want to say thank you. Thank you for being the kind of officer that you were. Thank you for making our community safer. You are the personification of what an IMPD officer should be. I hope that I am able to embody the spirit that you had in your duties. You are a true hero. I am confident that our Father has welcomed you into his grace with waiting arms. You will never be forgotten Dave. You are an inspiration to not only those who knew you, but to those who were never given the privilege. Rest In Peace Brother.

For Officer David Moore:

The law officer making a traffic stop is faced with a constant unknown factor - is the subject possible wanted for a crime or has this person very recently commited a crime? This situation, as in almost every case, confronts the officer with the element of surprise. And, one that might be deadly. We regret that our brother David, whose parents themselves are law officers, would become a statistic in what has happened before, and is sure to happened again. Though training is our best response, we know that it is a means of lessening more than eliminating such incidents.

We pray for David's family, friends, co-workers and all who care about him. May they be ready to reach-out to one another in the days ahead.

I am proud to render Officer David Moore a final salute.

Cpl. Ralph D. Fiorenza (Ret.)
Pennsylvania State Police

Isaiah 6:8- "I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me."

It is with great sorrow that we offer our sincerest condolences on the loss of Officer Moore. As police cadets, we have been taught a great many things but one cannot teach how to cope with the loss of a brother in this new family we have been welcomed into. What we have learned is that this calling is not for the weak, the timid, or the faint of heart/character. Armed with that knowledge we may not have known the individual but we do know the type of man and can be eternally grateful for the ultimate sacrifice given in the protection of others. Our Thoughts and prayers are with you,
