Your heroism and service is honored today, the first anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never dimishes respect, and your memory will always be honored and revered. I pray for the solace of all those who love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. Your family is in my heat's embrace today.

Although I never had the honor in meeting you, I've heard nothing but the best about you not only as an officer, but a person in general. I am currently with the 8th IMPD Recruit Class and it is an HONOR to be the first class to start our training in the new wing dedicated to you, and the other fallen officers. Everyday we line up in a hallway facing pictures and dates of all the fallen officers, and everyday it touches me the same as it did the first day of class...your mother was there to help open the wing and the tears strolling down her face with pride, honor, and sadness, had an everlasting affect on me.
