Law Enforcement Memorial Prayer by Officer Thomas Guthery

Dear Lord, law enforcement is not an easy task to do,
Yet, there are many who choose to wear the shield.
They serve each day, to the oaths they swore are true,
Protecting and serving, a safer, better world to build.

Lord now we gather to pay our deepest honor,
To those of ours officers, killed in the line of duty.
It matters not the style of shield they wore,
Only that they served with pride, and honor.

Lord all that matters is that they were one of us,
Serving wherever needed, richest mansion to dirtiest alley.
Confident and proud, highly honored by the peoples trust,
So they carried a shield, mindful of all their sacred duties.

Lord you have called several of ours home to glory,
The race with life for them is now done.
Peace, blessed peace, in safety, forever now with Thee,
Welcome rest, now in heaven for all of eternity.

May time never erase the sacrifices that were made,
May no officer ever fall alone, to lie cold in their grave .
May those of us still serving, remember well the price they paid,
May their memories stand forever as those who went down brave.

Lord give us courage to carry on, to still live and care,
To not be vengeful or bitter, to simply trust Your word it true.
May we always cover with pride the shield we wear,
To honor all fallen officers, whom we now commend to you.

God Speed!

May you rest in sweet peace, Deputy Hopper. God bless, guide, comfort & keep your children, husband, other family survivors & your fellow comrades. I pray that the family will know that you will still watch over them & that eventually, the sun will shine again. Know that your loved one is only gone from this Earth, but lives on on the other side, arriving a bit earlier than those who loved her. I wish you all peace beyond all understanding.

"Pray for the Men in Blue"

It takes a very special person to wear the blue.
Most people do not understand what we do
We made a commitment to protect and serve.
We work hard to provide the safety you deserve.

No normal shifts, not nine to five.
We work 24/7 to keep you alive.
Holidays and weekends don’t mean a thing.
We work night and day, just give us a ring.

Our loved ones and children pray every night.
That we will return at the break of daylight.
We carry guns and wear vests to help us get through.
You couldn’t imagine some of the things we must do.

We see accidents and blood and small children crying.
We also see death and it’s not just old people dying.
Abusive spouses and parents that don’t seem to care.
These are just a few of the things, to make you aware.

Drug dealers and drunks are a regular sight.
We go to the bars for fight after fight.
Responding to calls day after day.
Not allowing our personal lives to get in the way.

You complain all the time when you see us on a break.
We just drive around in cars and oh, the money we make.
Stop for a second and try to assess
Who’s always there to clean up the mess.

We do all we can to help and provide.
To make you feel safe and secure inside.
Please remember all of the things that we must do.
And next time you pray, include the men and women in blue.-By Adam E. Hutton. Harwich (MA) Police Department

Deputy Hopper,

My heart truly aches for your family. I am so very sorry. You were such a wonderful person and a great cop. I have been deeply touched by your tragic death. You know compassion is such a difficult emotion for Police Officers to have especially when it pertains to individuals we have to deal with however it seems that you were able to accomplish this and that is amazing. Alot of times we become cynical because of our jobs, again, you overcame this.

You were a true professional and hero. Your family should be so proud. I offer my deep condolences to them.

I applaud your dept and officer Blum for trying to save you.

Suzzane, I will go now but I thank you for your service and your sacrifice. You were a peacemaker, a child of god and now you walk the streets of gold. I pray for peace and comfort for your family.

RIP Sister.

Deputy Hopper you’ll be missed by your brothers and sisters on the street. You have received your wings up in the sky, where one day you’ll teach us all how to fly.

Clark County/Springfield, Ohio is a large community however in difficult times like these it still amazes me how it pulls together like a small community as it demonstrated this past week. I was raised in Clark County Ohio; I did not know Deputy Hopper personally only through passing as I worked as an officer within the county in the past. I have many current friends who are Clark County Deputies. Through their reflections and pain which I personally witnessed yesterday at the memorial service I have learned Deputy Hopper touched and inspired many individuals. I wish I had the privilege to have known her as my friends have, however she has inspired me through them. Her dedication to the public and law enforcement community will inspire many others years to come. Let her spirit continue to live through those who she has touched. To Deputy Hoppers family, friends and co-workers my prayers are with you. When one falls, we all fall.
