Reflections for Deputy Sheriff George Mitchell

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 89th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never dimishes respect and your memory will always be honored and revered. I am sure that you are proud that your family continued your legacy of protecting and serving.

This man was my great grandfather, who I never got to meet. His son, my grandfather, went on to become a Deputy Sheriff, as well, and raised four daughters, one of whom is my mother. I am very proud to have had such a brave man in my family.
