Reflections for Border Patrol Agent Brian A. Terry

Semper Fi, hero. You gave it your all for the Corp and to the ICE. A coward may have cut your life short, but so many will never forget your service to the Marine Corp and to your country. God bless your family and the department. Bless all who wear a badge in protection to us all.

Brian,
I would just like to say thank you for your years of dedicated service and sacrifice for our Country-first when you served in the USMC and later as an U.S. Border Patrol Agent. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

To the Family, Friends, and Border Patrol Agents:

I am so sorry for your loss. I met Terry while working the MIRP out of Tucson this year. He was a great man and loved his job. There are no words I can say to take away your pain. He was doing a job he loved and took pride in it. I hope you do not look at this time of year as a painful time, but to honor him and his memory. He will not be forgotten by anyone who ever met him.

With deepest sympathies
Dennis K.

I was a friend of Brians while serving in the United States Marine Corps in Naples, Italy. I am so sorry to hear of the passing of another American Hero, and a friend. Brian was always a leader, and an awesome example of an American soldier. My prayers and thoughts are with the family, and my memories of times spent with Brian will last forever. Thank you Brian for your sacrifice, and your life spent protecting others!

To the family, friends and co-workers of Agent Brian Terry. I would like to express my sympathies to all of you at this time of ultimate sorrow. Obviously your loved one was an outstanding person dedicated to his country and what he was doing. We have a war like environment on the border with Mexico and the risks are extremely high. Your loved ones courage and sacrifice will be honored.

All Border Patrol Agents put on their uniforms and bravely face danger. As a Marine and then again as a BORTACer you not only faced danger, you went looking for it to protect the innocent that could not protect themselves. You are a hero and will always be remembered for your sacrifice.

Terry Family-thank you for your gift to us, condolences for your loss.

If you seek to do battle with me this day, you'll receive the best I am capable of giving. It may not be enough, but it will be everything I have to give. You may defeat me, but you will be lucky to escape with your life. You may kill me, but I'm willing to die if necessary. I do not fear death; for I have been close enough to it on enough occasions that it no longer concerns me. What I do fear is the loss of my honor, and would rather die fighting than to have it said that I was without courage.

Agent Terry,

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I believe the the following quote captures what all in law enforcement would attribute to you,a fallen hero. "This greatness was won by men of courage, with knowledge of their duty, and a sense of honor in action. They gave of themselves, and receive praise that will never die. They have earned a home in the minds of men, where there glory will remain forever" God Bless.

The cost of living free is not cheap. It is on the backs of men and women like Agent Terry and our other law enforcement and military and their families that the cost is carried on behalf of our nation. And we move forward from that day, changed forever, committed to honoring those who paid with their lives, honored to have known a man of Brian's caliber, and in my case to have worn the same uniform.
May God bring peace to your family. Honor first, and Semper Fi.

John Fitzpatrick Associate Chief
US Border Patrol
