We lost a hero, a brother in uniform and a true patriot. Now we all have a special watch dog in the heavens above. Now he sits in the right side of our heavenly father. All your friends and family have to do is look towards the heaven above to feel your comfort and support. God bless you Brandon Coates.

Brandon, by now you must know how much you've touched our hearts and have changed our lives. We're going to always remember you and think of you because you were a special person, a good kind friend and a great cop. Your name is never going to be forgotten and your friends and family will never stop missing you. I've heard so many great things about you, from so many people. I wish I could have met you, but I know that our good Lord has you now and that you're OK. Thank you because you were a positive influence to others, and because you risked your life every day to serve your country and keep your community safe. You're memory will linger with all of us forever. RIP

I remember you as Lance Corporal Coates while we served in Iraq together. Although I have not heard from you since our return, I am saddened to be informed that one of my Marine brothers is down in another combat zone while you continued to protect citizens and serve as a law enforcement officer. You continued to be prepared to make heroic sacrafices for the cause of peace in our country and your community! God bless you and your family my brother! I am honored to have served with you!!!

There is no way I can express the deep sorrow and sympathy I feel for Brandon's family. Nor can I make any sense of his tragic murder. It takes a special type of individual to perform the daily duties of a law enforcement officer. Brandon was obviously this type of man. I salute him for what he was and and you others still on the job. Stay safe and keep the faith even though the masses love to second guess you. You are definitely performing a very necessary job in our world.

To the friends, family and colleagues of DFC COATES.

It is with the deepest sadness that I find myself writing this message. When we all take the oath, put on our uniform and go out to protect those in our communities, we always believe that we will be returning home safely after what may be a quiet or busy shift with our fellow brothers and sisters. If anything happens good or bad..we share it together because that is the way we were made by god. I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Brandons life. I have a life long connection with OCSO and I just wanted you all to know that I too feel your pain and anger in losiones fellow officer of the law. I am truely sorry that I cannot attend the service, but hope that my thoughts and prayers can give some comfort to you knowing that officers from across the pond in the united kingdom are also sharing the pain in your loss.
Rest In Peace Brandon.
