My condolences and heartfelt sorrow go to Deputy Coates' family, squad and friends. He was always kind to me and my fellow Officers while assisting us in the tough communities where we work. He never shirked from responsibility and treated everyone with respect. His service to his Country, County and fellow Americans will always be exemplary and remembered.

I was proud to know him, may God Bless him and may He Rest In Peace.

There are no words to describe how deeply hurt we all are with the sudden loss of one of our own. Never do we think it will be someone so close that is taken from us.
