For Deputy Sheriff Dewayne Crenshaw:

One of the highest risks to a law officer is in the response to domestic arguments. What normally is a counseling session, or even an occasional on-the-spot arrest, sometimes is also complicated by those who react violently. All too often it is by surprising the officer upon arrival with sudden and deadly force. We regret that our brother Dewayne has become yet another statistic of such circumstances. Our response is continual training which reduces, but does not eliminate, the risk. We now must rely upon our justice system for a fair disposition for Dewayne in this case.

We pray for Dewayne's family, friends, co-workers and all who care about him. May they be ready to reach-out to one another in the days ahead.

As a both retired state trooper and deputy sheriff (Lake Co. FL) I am proud to render Deputy Dewayne Crenshaw a final salute.

Cpl. Ralph D. Fiorenza (Ret.)
Pennsylvania State Police

Rest in peace Brother Dewayne.
