Stand strong the man who chooses law enforcement as a duty.
Beat strong this man's heart filled with the passion to help those in need.
Be strong the family who lives with this loss.

Trooper DeLaittre served his agency, community and state with a courage not many possess. Though I never had the honor of meeting this young man, I feel a sadness in my heart for the families harmed in this tragedy, and know in my heart that if nothing else comes from this, we all have learned a lesson from Trooper DeLaittre's bravery and willingness to serve at any cost. Let us all learn from this brave soul that we all have a purpose, and Tropper DeLaittre was the embodiment of that purpose.

Godspeed brother. May everyone know that December 1, 2010 was the day you laid down your life to protect those who may not even know you were there.

God bless the family of this young man, who made the ultimate sacrifice. Our family shares your heartache, as we lost our brother 3 years ago. He too died by gunfire and the man who did it took his own life. It will be a very hard next few months ahead for you, knowing that there are many that share your tears. This again is a terrible loss! God be with you!

You were so young and full of energy. Your tour of duty was short but not forgotten. I know how much you must have loved getting up each and every day and putting your Montana Trooper uniform on. The uniform that told all that you were there to serve and protect your citizens of your Great State of Montana. That is a feeling that few will ever know. Your loss is with us all. After serving with the California Highway Patrol I do know your pride. Semper Fi Brother and you will always be remembered.
