My heart and prayers go out to the family. Truly grateful this time of year for the dedication of law enforcement. Deep gratitude for this man that gave his life for the service of our community. My Husband also gives his efforts in behalf of others. I feel very humbled by this tragedy and blessed at the same time. I hope the family finds peace and knows the support they have from other officers and the community.

i see no difference in a medal of honor for the military- it is a war and young men of our country are placeing themselves in HARMS WAY every day. i think recognition should be at the national. GOD LOVES

My husband is an officer in Cheyenne, WY...so Deputy Brownlee's loss hits close to home. May God bless your wife during this time, and place an extra level of protection upon your fellow deputies while they mourn your loss and continue to serve and protect the citizens of Weld County.

I am deeply saddened by this trajedy. My father was an L.E. officer for 25+ years and I know all too well the worries that the family must endure every time their father, son, mother, and sibling go out on duty. Deputy Brownlee was a true hero who did not deserve to be taken away from his family just two days before Thanksgiving. To have such a brave person taken from their family and colleagues is just downright disheartening. Rest in Peace Deputy Brownlee...you will be missed dearly...
