I just wanted to offer my prayers and sympathy to the family and to the officers and friends of Jonathan. We knew Jonathan as a youth in Greenwood, TX and truly loved him and his family. He will be missed. As a daughter of a Police Officer, my heart aches for his family and friends. I appreciate his willingness to serve and pray for all who protect and serve. May God grant each of you safety and protection. You are appreciated and Jonathan will be missed dearly by all.

There are no words to ease the pain in Mrs. McDonald's heart during this very difficult and sad time in her life. To the very young child who will only grow up to know their daddy from stories being told, may you know forever that we will never forget and that your daddy is a true hero...

God bless the family, friends and coworkers of Trooper McDonald as well.
