For Chief Deputy Kevin Roberts:

The law officer's job is a difficult one. Added to the roster of perils that may befall him or her is the deranged individual who will attack the officer on the sacred grounds of his home. This is a particularly demented type of perpetrator that exists and who is particularly cowardly. As in this case, such an individual who will kill a law officer usually follows-up with suicide. Strong, intelligent, vigorous, coordinated and continuous law enforcement is our answer to such deeds. We regret that our brother Kevin would be the target of this type of criminal.

We pray for Kevin's family, friends, co-workers and all who care about him. May they be ready to reach-out to one another in the days ahead.

As a retired state trooper and a retired Lake County (FL) deputy sheriff, I am proud to render Chief Deputy Kevin Roberts a final salute.

Cpl. Ralph D. Fiorenza (Ret.)
Pennsylvania State Police
