TIME HEALS ALL WOUNDS AND AS TIME PASSES THE ANGUISH CREATED BY A MONSTER WILL DIMINISH ITSELF AND MAY THE HAND OF GOD PROTECT OUR FALLEN BROTHER NOW AND FOREVER. MAY HIS CHILDREN GROW UP IN THE KNOWLEDGE AND PRIDE OF HAVING SUCH A FINE COUREAGOUS MAN AS A FATHER. TO THE OFFICERS OF SAN DIEGO DO THE JOB EVERYDAY AS TIME AND CIRCUMSTANCES WARRANT AND HANG TOGETHER DURING THE TOUGH TIMES
GOD BLESS AND KEEP YOU IN YOUR PROFESSIONAL AND PRIVATE LIVES.

Along with many other brave men and women here, Chris Wilson was a hero. But I wouldn't say he was a hero because he died in the line of duty. I'd say he's a hero because he did a job for 17 years, day in and day out, that very few people in our city could do. And he did it with a great deal of respect and concern for his fellow citizens, even the least among them.

I wish I had known you in person, Chris, so I could simply shake your hand and say, "Thank you."
