Your honor, bravery and dedication to protecting your community and God's children in it are noted in His journal of law enforcement heroes. All your new comrades in the badge have also paid the ultimate and they welcome you with open arms. Know that those brothers and sisters left behind will keep your name and your honor alive for years to come and they will care for your family. God bless you and your service brother, rest in peace. In Christ

For Lieutenant Jose A. Cordova-Montanez:

Hardly any of us who enforce the law has not envisioned himself or herself in the midst of a robbery while off-duty and wondered what our actions might be. For our brother Jose, this much-pondered scenario would become a reality. That he would announce his authority, providing the trash that would kill him an opportunity to surrender, demonstrates extraordinary courage and we regret that this action might have cost him his life.

We pray for Jose's family, friends, co-workers and all who care about him. May they be ready to reach-out to one another in the days ahead.

Dios te bendiga mi amigo usted es un verdadero héroe!

I am proud to render Jose A. Cordova_Montanez, a soldier-of-the-law a final salute.
