To: Liberty County Sheriff's Department- My heart and prayers are with you during this time of such a tragedy. I had the honor and priveledge of meeting Officer McDuffie when I attended a class in Liberty County. He was a great guy and always greeted the jailers from Chambers County with a bright smile and a warm welcome. I am glad that I had the chance to meet him. To the family of Officer McDuffie: You are in my prayers and thoughts at this time of your loss. Always rememebr that God chooses only the best for His Master's Bouquet. A new Flower has been added to Heaven's Garden. He is shining down on you and holding you up. Your husband, dad, brother, and son died a true hero. He will always be with you in your hearts and your memories. When you see a flower bloom, see a leaf change colors, feel the rain drops on your face, or feel a gentle breeze, know that what you feel is your loved one letting you know that he is there with you. Again, Officer Mcuffie' s family and his co-workers are in my prayers and thoughts. To: Officer McDuffie: GO REST HIGH ON THAT MOUNTAIN and GOD SPEED.

Odell, we worked together for many years and I know you thought the world of me, just as I did you. I'm proud to say that you were a law enforcement brother. Keep the heavens safe until we join you. We will do our best here, so just keep a watch over us. Even though we may be sad, and shead a tear, we know that you are in a much better place then each of us. See ya brother....

Your service went unnoticed many times, yet your dedication did not waver! Your commitment to the Communities and County you served was deep and strong. Your bravery was unquestioned, and your love of your family was without comparison to any LOVE on this earth!
Liberty County has lost a fine man and a wonderful Public Servant. Heaven has a place prepared for this type of man. Jesus allowed him to be among us for a little while, and now his service is no longer to man and the LORD! Jesus is who he serves now! Rest in Peace O'Dell, until THAT day arrives! We will Miss YOU!

My friend. I met Odell when I worked for the Liberty County Sheriff's Office. He always had a smile. I loved to see the look on his face when I asked about his "babies" and asked to see pictures. He knew that I was going to ask to see pictures so he made sure that he either had printed pictures or pictures on his cell phone to show me. Even after I left the Sheriff's Office, and I would go by to visit, Odell had a smile on his face and pictures to show me. I will miss him dearly. Liberty County will miss him.
