Where do I begin ? So many stories, or should I say..."adventures" ? I met you when I was fresh out of the academy, 2 days as I recall...you were in the report room and complimented me on some call I just went to...I was immeadiately taken in by your welcoming nature, then realized you were the funniest person I'd ever met. Your story telling could keep me going for hours, bro, listening to you was better than any movie or comedian I'd ever, or will ever, see. I always told you to write a book, and you said you were, but that of course you were "changing the names" to protect the innocent...haha..You had a way of putting your own special spin on everything, and made it all ok. 3-11s, with gerry and doug, "coffee" at the blacktop, 310 on midz...me, you, george and brian...Vegas in 98...we should have really gone again !! The late night bar trips, Clevelend, when you jumped in the pool at fagins in uniform and took the palm tree with you !! The "NYPD" talk...see you back at the house....I need a bus and a boss...SERPICO, MATRIX, COPLAND...wigwam, geronimos...watsup jay gee ? You had more arrests than anyone in the department...and many of my own where made as a result of working with you....This does'nt seem real...you have left a huge gaping hole in our lives that will NEVER be filled...it was a pleasure and honor to have known you, even if for such a short time...godspeed brother, see you again one day.

You blew the whistle for coffee
We all came running in
Underneath the building
A show was about to begin,

Front and center you took the stage
Tales and jokes were told
Even a truffle shuffle
Your personality was loud and bold,

You were a leader at work
And always lent a hand
You had the biggest heart
Only God can understand,

From the depths of our hearts
We will miss you dear
Your memory will always live on
To John be revered.

It was a privilege to work with John Abraham. If you were one of the lucky ones, then you know his relentless commitment to our profession and his love for it. No one cared for their brothers and sisters more than John did. It became evidently clear as I witnessed John come to their aid on a regular basis before they would ever ask. If you knew John you were blessed! John brought laughter to a room like no one else, often making himself the pun of a joke for a laugh. Few every picked my spirits up as John did. I will miss you brother!

His Judgment Day:
The officer stood and faced his God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shinning, Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, Officer, How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek To my church have you been true?"
The officer squared his shoulder and said, "No, Lord, I guess I aint, Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was rough, And sometimes I've been violent Because the streets are tough.
But I never took a penny That wasn't mine to keep.. Though I worked a lot of overtime, when the bills got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept an unmanly tear.
I know I don't deserve a place among the people here. They never wanted me around except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don't...I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne, where the saints often trod. As the officer waited quietly for the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, Officer. You've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on heaven's streets, You've done your time in hell"

I had the distinct honor and pleasure of working with John for the last 17 years. Not only was he the best cop that I had every met. But he was one of the most compassionate Brother in Blue that i have known in my years on the job.

If there was a police event, he was there and first in line to volunteer. His sense of humor and wit were second to none, he could ball-bust with the best of them and wasn't afraid to give sound advise when asked. Him and I had many heart to hearts between two cruisers windows over the years, that I will cherish until the day I join him.

I considered him a true friend... His loss was a deep cut to our community, in teaneck but more importantly to our PD.

We'll miss you dear friend,
