From that first day that we arrived for orientation day at the Police Academy, I can't count the many times we spent talking about the things that made us happy or sad...about our family and friends...about our wives and our children...the tales that would create laughter until we couldn't breathe or recapping the events that would create the bitter silence that neither of us had the courage to break...John I will always remember you, honor your commitment to family, friends and coworkers. I am confident that the Men & Women of our Agency will miss you always, as you have left a lasting and undying impression in our lives forever. Your Friend and co-worker - #259

So my love here I am, finally..months later, although I have talked to you numerous times since you've left us, and although I have been here numerous times, I just could not find the words to type through my teared filled eyes. We both met for a reason, and fell in love so quickly, our marriage alone we could have written a book out of. In the eight years we were together, we loved, and lived for a lifetime, as well as fought, and endured more than some people do in their lifetimes of storms, but yet we still tried, and yes we still fought, but beneath the surface there was a deep love, and understanding that nobody else knew, and there was Jake, and I know that at times he was a bit too much to deal with, and it was just easier for you to just go to work. I know that is where you were happiest so I let you go. I just always wanted you to be happy, and you know I tried my best, but you would change your mind so quickly I couldn't keep up sometimes. Well just know that I loved you, and part of me always will, and that I will never forget the good times we had, and I will make sure that Jake always remembers you, and knows what a Super Hero his Didi was. Also thank you for making me so strong, in your own way, by preparing me for this. You know what I mean, and now I'm convinced that you were psychic. Btw, we both miss you... I guess now I can get a printed copy of this book for Jake. :) oh, and by the the way I found your manuscript.,the one you showed me like 8 years ago when we first started dating..hmmmmm..no bueno then, no bueno now...should I try to Abrahamism it, and publish it..because it needs mucho work ..Babeee..lol

Oct. 30th we lay to rest our brother, and more importantly our friend John Abraham. As you read these pages of stories from fellow officers, you will hear different yet similar stories (All are true). What they don’t tell you was John was a LARGE man, who often joked about his size. What John failed to notice, and his fellow officers did was John needed to be that size to hold a HEART that BIG. The other thing about John was respect. Respect for you, your family, present and past officers (more so officer he never worked with). He would love to talk to the retired guys, and just listen to their stories of “Back in the Days”. John just loved it, almost wishing he worked back then (of course he was just born, lol). John would talk to me about my father (Teaneck Officer for 30yrs) with such admiration (just off stories he heard). A man he never met and who retired when John was 10yrs old, and past 3-4 yrs before John was hired. Ironically (for me) John died in the line of duty Oct. 25th, 2010, nineteen years to the date of my father’s passing. It was HONOR and PRIVILEDGE to call you a partner, a bother, and a FRIEND. I will miss your dedication, humor and friendship. R.I.P 257
