Reflections for Police Officer Merrill Bruguier

12 years without you Bob has been unreal. I wonder what would life be like if you were here. Our son has chosen a road I refuse to accept. We aren’t on speaking terms, he basically wished me dead and he totally broke my heart. He has so much hate right now. I dreamed of a college education and a career that he wanted. He dropped out of college. Watch over him Bob, only an angel can save him and show him a better road to a successful life. You are loved, missed and never forgotten.

It’s been 10 years now. It hasn’t been any easier than it was the first year. Bob I need your help! Watch over our son as he finds his way. I’m so lost without him right now. My heart is broken and I can’t do anything but hope and pray he is ok and he is warm. You are missed and I have not forgotten you. Your life mattered and I will always make sure you are remembered.

Its been 8 years Merrill and it still feels like yesterday. The memories and the feelings of emptiness come flooding back. You are missed everyday and on the cold rainy foggy days it is more so. Today marks the 8th Anniversary of the worst day in our lives. God decided your work here was done and took you to a better place. Please watch over your son. It was easier when he was 9 and I was able to console his broken heart. At 17 its hard to understand all his emotions and I don't know how to fix his broken heart. When you first left us everyone said it would get better with time. They lied. It never gets easier and our heartache never goes away.
Today I took donuts to the officers on duty and asked Jr. Mike to take your donut to you. He agreed to drive your donut to the site. He took the bag and said "I'll secure this in the unit and get it to him." I hope you enjoy your donut! we love you and miss you so much. No matter where we are in life we will always remember you full of life, super loving and always ready to laugh. <3

John 5:28, 29 - "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I pray that everyone can find peace in knowing that we will see this officer as well as many others again in Paradise soon. Until then, please accept my condolences.

well Bob, son started his senior year a few weeks back. Just think he was barley in elementary school when you left.. I wish time would wait for me to catch up. I wish Heaven had visiting hours so you could give me some of your infinite wisdom to keep your son in line and on the right path. Do angels get passes to come home? I wish

We haven't forgotten you Bob! You are missed each and every day. We had good thoughts of you on your birthday, and smiled through our tears while wishing we could sing Happy Birthday to you here and not in Heaven. In a few days it will be 5 long years, but yet feel like yesterday. Son plays JV/Varsity Football now and has passed you up in size :) I know you would be so proud of him and how much he as grown since you left. So many people tell us he is your twin.
It will be 5 years you have been gone soon and I still wish I could wake up and hear your keys in the door, your boots in the hallway, and feel the warmth of the flashlight as you come to check on us late at night. I dream of seeing the dust trail on the hill in the morning sun and hearing your voice over the radio "247 7U 10-7 10-42"
We love you today just as much as we did on that horrible day. Watch over our son and help me keep him safe.

You were the best cop ever, and the best uncle. You made everyone's day, your really nice. Like the one time my dad had to get arrested and he was drunk. You asked him nicely to get in the car. I have many memories of you, sometimes when I go to eagle butte I go by the spot where you crashed, and I sit there and remember you. I miss you

Your heroism and service is honored today, the third anniversary year of your death. I am privileged to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer. He was your fellow Marine as well so I bid you semper fi and thank you for your service in the Corps.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

I pray for the solace of all that call you beloved for I know both the pain and pride are forever.
