36 years of service to your Great State is the sign of a truely dedicated Trooper. From one Highway Patrol officer to another God Bless. Sorry that your duty has ended and my thoughts go out to your family...One will never know the loss until you lose someone close. I have lost so many and they never get easier...Just know that the new generation will pick up where you left off and carry your memory with them forever.

Your years of service to God's children stand as a tribute to your devotion, honor and love of serving and protecting. God has now received a seasoned and large hearted brother of the badge to serve with all our honorable brothers and sisters in His kingdom. Those left behind will keep the memory of your service and will care for your family. Yournew squad leader is Jesus Christ and while you get to know Him better and better, give Him a hug for all brothers and sisters left behind. Rest in peace. In Christ.

I was Chief of Police in Bowie when David came to Bowie fresh out of the DPS Academy. Prior to that I had hired a young girl, Lynetta Boudreaux as a Dispatcher. Lyneta became as a 3rd daughter to my wife and I. Then along came this new Trooper. Lynetta said she did not even like him at the time. Meanwhile I sent Lynetta through the Academy and Commissioned her as a Police Officer. Love caame along and David and Lynetta were married. Then Bo came along, named after a Soap Opra character. I have spent my entire life in Law enforcement. My dad was a Texas Peace officer who died in the line of duty, but you can not get over such a thing.I now feel helpless in this matter without Jesus. I can not believe this is real. You can, however, find strength in the Lord. I love you Lynetta, Bo, & LaVell

I didn't want to believe it was true when I got the call from my dad. Earlier in the day my Captain and I were talking and he told me that I would have to bury a friend with a badge if I did this job long enough. Little did I know it would be a friend I looked up to so much and a friend who did so much to help me get where I am today. My dad absolutely loved being your partner and it's not going to be the same without. My thoughts and prayers are with Lynetta and Bo.
