My husband (Roy H Mardis EOW 08/23/85) was accidently shot by a KY State Trooper. Even when it is a accident it is so hard. But always remember - 'God will never give you more than you can handle' although sometime I wish he wouldn't trust me so much. GOD BLESS!

I ask you, the family, friends and colleagues of Officer De Kraai to express on behalf of my wife and my name in our deepest condolences. Unfortunately we can not attend the funeral of Officer De Kraai, because we come from Germany. But they will be in our thoughts and we will pray for them.

To Officer Dan De Kraai, to all family members and friends who call him beloved, and to his law enforcement family:

I was sorry to learn of Dan's death and extend my sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you have suffered. Words are insufficient to describe the sadness I feel for the De Kraai family. May you find comfort in your faith and the support of the law enforcement community.

There are many police survivors who share this same journey with you, and that community will be there to support you. Dan's memory will be forever honored and revered.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the distinquished service Dan gave to his community and the citizens of Missouri and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on September 15, 2010.
