john Dillon was my gg-grandfather. i remember family stories of how they laid his body on the kitchen table. after the shoot out.thank you for remember his sacrifice.

I honor your service Constable Dillon. In my ancestry research I found the story of your sacrifice that day. I wish I could find more about it as I might be related to another person who died that night. If anyone has any information in more detail please contact me. Again, to Constable Dillon and his ancestors thank you for doing a job that is often selfless and even today taken for granted.

My Great Grand father was the other man killed when this happened, I would love to know what the Dillon family was told! My family told me something different also! It was a sad time for both families.

Thank you for your kind words and thoughts! John Dillon his daughter Polly was my great grandmother. From all of his decendents now spreadaround this countrywe thank you. The true account of his death Iis very differeent from our family lore. I have his dauthers wedding picture on my wall.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 110th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

It has taken over 108 years, but you are finally being honored. I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of Mingo County.
