Bless you Officer Reed for your service and sacrifice. We, like so many others, will be here to help your family through the difficult days ahead. As quoted on the National Peace Officers' Memorial in Washington D.C. "It is not how these officers died that made them heros; it is how they lived". Your name will soon be added to those hallowed walls, to be in the company of so many other national heros.

God didn’t promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain; but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears and light for the way.

Rest in peace.

Reed,
I will never forget you or what you stood for. You fought the good fight, and put everybody else before you. You are a role model to the young and old, and will be missed by all. Rest easy my friend, watch over us all, we'll take it from here. I miss you, I love you, and I respect you!

You'll always be with us,
Pup

Leonard,

It seems like it was just yesterday that we were going through the academy together, joking around and laughing all the time. You always knew how to make the class laugh and how to bring the class closer together. You were a true leader with a kind heart. You will be truly missed, but will never be forgotten. Thanks for all the great memories; it was a pleasure knowing you. Rest in peace brother.

...while riding home from the Hospital Wednesday night, staring out the window and watching the reflection of the rain against the street lights...fighting back her tears...

"I wish I could cry a tear in to Officer Reed's mouth and he would wake up and hold me in his arms again..."

Leonard I only met you two or three times and never really got a chance to know you. Kristine spoke very highly of you as did your brothers in the Cedar Park Motor Division. I feel that I have truly missed out on a bright spot in life not getting to know you. Law enforcement is a calling not a job and you my friend have left a lasting impression on so many lives. Ride the wind on silver wings my brother and by the grace of God one day I will get see what I have missed by not knowing you.

I pray that God will hold your family in the palm of his hand. That he will make his face to shine upon them and give them peace.

My condolences to Leonard's family.
I had the opportunity to work with Leonard on multiple ocassions when individuals were in crisis. He was one of those people who brought calm to any situation and made subjects feel at ease. He was kind and always had a smile for everyone. I looked forward to working cases with Leonard because he had such a great attitude and a special way of dealing with people when who were experiencing great difficulty. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
