My grandfather, Special Marshal Perkins, a former Sheriff of Whitley County, was the father of Whitley Countians Joe Perkins (who preceded him in death), Siler Perkins, Charles Perkins, Nell Perkins Wender, Edna Perkins Johnson, Lillian Perkins Robards, Dorothy Perkins when he was killed.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 82nd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Marshal Perkins,
It has taken over 80 years, but you are finally being honored. I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of Williamsburg. That your murderer was only sentenced to 12 years for manslaughter was a travesty of justice.
