Reflections for Police Officer Thor Odin Soderberg

I am terribly sorry for the loss of this officer and man, for his wife and family, and for his brothers and sisters in the Chicago Police Department. It seems that he dedicated his life to protecting others and teaching new officers how to do the same. He set an example of service that should be mirrored by all. May God bless Officer Soderberg and bring him into heaven as he will continue to watch over us all.

May God Be with your family, friends, and fellow comrades at this time of need. R.I.P. Officer Soderberg. God needed another angel! The city of Chicago lost a great man and a true hero. May you always be remembered for how you lived your life, not how you left this earth so tragically. Again, another senseless act that caused a death. How do the rest of us survive the loss? In time, they say, in time your heart heals. What a great loss to all that have known you and loved you.

It is easy to see why there are so many good comments for/about Thor. It is easy to see why so many people would call him brother, as do I. It is hard to imagine the difficulty of his family at this juncture. It is easiest for me to remember the joy and justice that Thor brought to me, our community and country. I am quite sorry that I cannot attend his services, but I will continue rejoicing in the small opportunity I had to share just a few of life's experiences with Thor.
All the best to Jennifer and the rest of his family.

To the family, friends and fellow officers of Thor Soderberg my sincere condolence in your loss. These outrageous acts of violence against those that "Serve and Protect" is unthinkable in a "civilised(?)" society. I didn't know this man, although I work with Chicago FOP Lodge #7, whenever a life is lost it is felt by many. Also being an Army veteran, like Officer Soderberg, a man that has done so much good for his community and country and with so much left to give, to have his life taken way to early is utterly incomprehensible. I won;t even expond on the person who did this.

God Bless America, God Bless the CPD and God hold Oficer Soderberg's family softly in your hands.

Chairman (civilian) Dennis Mitzner
