My heart is saddened by this great, and seemingly senseless, loss to the LEO community, your family, and the community of citizens who respect the job each LEO does. As I've read other reflections, it seems you were a man of faith, so our loss is Heaven's gain. As each baby is a sign from God that life is to go on, at least for now, may your child be a constant reminder to your family of God's provision, His love, and His plan - even when we cannot understand it; when we can't see His plan, trust His heart.

We will meet one day, and I can personally thank you for your sacrifice. Until then, my heartfelt sympathy is with your wife and family, and your family at Tampa PD; my prayers are with them all.
