Reflections for Police Officer Craig Lamont Shaw

Lord Jesus, as we watch America’s Peace Officers succumb to the wicked and evil in this world, Shot and Killed in the Line-of-Duty, it becomes difficult for us to pick up and move forward. Our communities are on the brink of exploding with tension. In light of the peace officers who are no longer with us, I pray for endurance for our communities and law enforcement agencies. Carry us through this time of strife, that through our struggles, our bonds may grow even more unbreakable. In Your mighty and holy name, I pray. Amen.

Holy Scriptures on Law Enforcement’s Mission:

“For the policeman [peace officer] does not frighten people who are doing right; but those doing evil will always fear him. So if you don’t want to be afraid, keep the laws and you will get along well. The policeman [peace officer] is sent by God to help you. But if you are doing something wrong, of course you should be afraid, for he [the peace officer] will have you punished. He [the peace officer] is sent by God for that very purpose. Obey the laws, then, for two reasons: first, to keep from being punished, and second, just because you know you should.” [Romans 13:3-5 TLB]

[Jesus Said,] “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” [John 15:13 ESV]

And he [Jesus] said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.” [Luke 23:43 ESV]

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons [children] of God.” [Matthew 5:9 ESV]

“And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” [Isaiah 6:8 ESV]

Wow, what an amazing show of love and respect for this man/officer Mr. Craig Shaw. I am sitting in the Lancaster PD lobby at 3:00am waiting to represent a member officer of the Black Police Association of Dallas who was involved in a shooting off duty. While waiting I had the opportunity to stumble upon this page. This was a man/officer that meant tons to a lot of people. I am at a loss of words to read what you meant to these people. God has you and your family in his arms. The ultimate sacrifice you paid to serve leaves us all eternally grateful to you and your family. R.I.P. good sir!

RIP Brother. It’s hard enough to read the circumstances surrounding an Officer’s death. The fact your killer was related to police officers hurts ten fold.

How did I end up here today, why am I even posting anything? It's because I miss you so much. It's been four years since your passing and now that daddy's gone the pain is so much more difficult to bear. I know you and daddy are together again watching over us. I still can hear your laugh and see your smile. Your words of wisdom echo in my ears and I can't thank God enough for blessing me with the best big brother anyone could ask for. Love and miss you

Craig,

This year for police week I will be riding with Tiwanda in the Police Unity Tour to honor and remember you. We have trained so hard to make you proud and look forward to riding into DC this year to honor you. I got my "Shaw" bracelet yesterday to wear during my ride. I am so ready to go. I know that you will be there as the wind at our backs and our strength up those long hills. I hope we make you proud.

Big Shaw.... Just thinking of you today! Another school shooting!! I was talking w/ my Chief about active shooter and how it is handled up here in rural America and it is way different. I remember taking Active Shooter with you and the other SWAT guys at the school in DeSoto. I can't help but think that if a big, intelligent, smart, trained, proficient, professional such as your self can be taken....how easy it would be for the rest of us. I know that we are all probably keeping you busy up there watching over us, especially your amazing wife and kids, but please keep the good work up!! God Speed Brother in Blue!

Your heroism and service is honored today, the second anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

I pray for the solace of all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. Thanks to your family and friends for sharing their devotion to you through their reflections.

As our agency goes through another loss, how LPD misses you and reflect upon your memory today also. LPD will have a void without you. We can't take care of Tiwanda and the kids as you did but we hold a special place for them as LPD family. Hope the job we do makes you smile.
