Reflections for Trooper First Class Wesley Washington John Brown

Brother,
I think of you often. I can't drive down Old Branch Ave. without memories. You are not forgotten Brown. Guide and protect us as we patrol the streets you gave your life for.

I did not know Trooper Brown, but I know all about the Law Enforcement community coming from a family of Federal, State and Local LE. Trooper Brown, from what I have learned was an upstanding gentleman and cared about his community which was shown not only by the profession he chose but what he was also doing for his community. A shining light taken away too soon. Hopefully the LE community will keep his mission alive and help give back to others like he did.

RIP Trooper Brown

Trooper Brown,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just for the citizens of the state of Maryland but also for the at risk children that you helped on your off-duty time as well. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

It give me goose bumps to even right on this page. The tears still fall down when i think about you man. It feels like yesterday when we where working at my brother shop tryna stay fresh for the school year. People dont really know what we had to grow up around in Seat Pleasent. To watch people who you damn near grew up with keep the cycle going, it hurts. But you where that one that said "I cant live like this", "The Pleasent is our Home", "I wanna make a diffrence in my Community". People dont know that this is somethings we shared from day one. Before there was YMEYM there was us. 4 kids from the pleasent with goals, dreams, and amnitions. We took it to Crossland then to Fairmount but we still maintained and kept are heads abouve water even when those close friends fell under. I miss the constant listen ear of yours and that big smile. You dont know how much you really love, miss, and care about someone until there gone. Standing in front of your Police family at your funeral made me come to realize that beyond a badge and uniform you where loved by so many others. I say thank you my brother because we all know that it could have been 4 people who died at that Applebee's instead of 1. God had a plan for you and he has a plan thru us. i will always shout your name to the high heavens. Your mission was has not yet been completed and you will always live thru ME, Codey, and Monte aslong as where breathing. I Luv ya Brother..
What you always would say to us.."Keep your head up and be proud of who you are and where you come from because I am...

Condolences to the family. I have a lot of friends and family who are police officers and I visit this page periodically.
We lost a friend and fellow Marine Robert Cottle, recently in Afghanistan who was LAPD for 20 years.

Though I do not know TFC Brown personally my thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family. Semper Fidelis.

I come to the ODMP often to remember my late fiancé Dennis. Every time I come here it breaks my heart to know that yet another officer has fallen and that yet another family has to live their lives without the man they loved. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Trooper Brown, especially to his fiancée Ebony. Know that you are not alone in the "journey" that you walk. Should you ever need anything please don't hesitate to contact me. (The Davis Co. Sheriff's Office in Iowa will always know how to reach me. I can also be found on Face Book.) You will be in my thoughts.

From reading the reflections left for Wesley, he sounds like he was a great man with a beautiful spirit. Those of you who knew him in life were so blessed to have been able to share in it. I hope that you will all continue to find a way to celebrate and remember Wesley's life and the MAN that he was. Remember that Wesley's life was about so much more than the way he died. Wesley will continue to live on as long as we continue to remember him.

Trooper Brown, thank you for helping to make this world a little safer for us all. YOU will not be forgotten. Please continue to watch over all of us as only you can. If you happen to bump into my late fiancé Dennis up there give him a big hug for me and the kids. It's been seven years and a half years but he's still very much missed and forever loved.

Wishing you brighter and better days,

Jocelyne :)

These young men and women, who serve us every day, should not be judged as hero's by the way they die, but, how they live their lives. Trooper Brown, had many achievements to be proud of and the Community in which he served will forever miss him. God Bless you Wesley Brown.
