Officer Wortham, I just wanted to thank you for your brave service to Chicago and this Nation. You stood at the gates of hell and showed no fear to the wicked. By reading how your father performed, you both were cut from the same piece of cloth. Rest in peace my brother.

I had the great honor of meeting Tom here in NYC(5/17) when he came on his own time after having been down in DC to come and visit the NYPD and Manhattan South Homicide Squad where I gave him a brief tour. Immediately, I recognized that I met a great man with a gentle unassuming soul. Tom had such a incredible presence and spoke how he worked in the toughest division in Chicago and loved what he did. Tom should serve as an inspiration to all of us who serve. God Bless Tom. Let him rest in eternal and everlasting peace. God Bless his entire family, the Chicago PD and the great citizens of Chicago who have lost a giant. Det. Yule, NYPD
