Reflections for Police Officer Brian Eric Huff

Seem's like just yesterday Officer Huff, we were laughing in the report room at the end of your shift and the start of mine's... I still think back to the first time we worked patrol together back at old #5 I took one look at you and said to myself " man this big dude is going to talk about lifting weights and working out all night long " then you got in the car and started talking about everything but working out, life, being married and taking care of home smile, time went so fast that day we couldn't believe it was time to get off work, I remember you and your partner would always back every unit up on a weapon run, no words can fill this page bro I miss seeing you in the morning getting ready to get off from work. We are not put on earth to be hear forever, just a short while so with that I won't ask why.. God bless you Huff...

Sir,

May your legacy live on for eternity. Have the T-Shirt with your badge on it proudly displayed in my room as a constant reminder of the warrior that you are. Continue to watch over us from above as we fight the criminal element. Wanted to tell you it was great to finally meet your wife and son. They are in good hands, brother.

Officer Huff may you RIP. Thank you for giving the ultimate sacrafice that night trying to protect the citizens of Detroit. You truly are a HERO in every sense of the word. Your time here on earth was cut way to short, but we know that you are now part of that big Department in the sky.

To the family, friends and co-workers, please know that your loved one is remembered by so many people who thank him for his service. He was taken to soon, but speaking from the experience of having lost a friend/brother (Shane Britton EOW 07-19-00 Cass County, MI Sheriff's Dept) the days do get easier...may your memories be those of the happy times, even though we will never forget Officer Huff. You are all in my thoughts and prayers as you are going through this tough time. All Officer's sacarfice themselves each and everytime they put on that uniform, but only a select few give the ulitmate sacrafice and unfortunately that had to be your loved one. And for that I'm deeply sorry. God needed him, and I'm sure that he is now a part of that Big Department in the sky watching over all of us from above and protecting the streets of gold.

To the HORRIBLE person that took Officer Huff away from his family and friends far to soon, I pray that God will have mercy on your soul but also that Justice will be served and that you will receive the harshest sentence available as you took the life of someone wonderful, something that you NEVER should have done. He was not there to hurt you, but to protect you and in time I pray that you will see that. I pray that you will feel a deep remorse for the rest of your life for what you have done. But know that you did not take him away forever...His memory will live on in the hearts and voices of many for YEARS and YEARS to come.

I did what I could for you that night, knowing at the time your fate was already determined, I still had hope. You had an appointment that you could not miss. You were suppose to be assigned out to the range monday but that was changed for some reason. Then, you were not working your regular sct that night. Everyone knows you work 5-14, but that night you worked 5-3 and lost your life on 5/3. I firmly believe your work was done here and that your maker called you back home. Rest in peace knowing Blair has many fathers now. I love you brother...
