Reflections for Police Officer Brian Eric Huff

John 5:28, 29 - "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I pray that everyone can find peace in knowing that we will see this officer as well as many others again in Paradise soon. Until then, please accept my condolences.

I went to sherrard middle school with Brian. I was looking for him over the years inquiring on his whereabouts. Until I found out what happened to him. He was my friend, I have very fond memories of him. We would allows have those belly buster laughs. -Rest in peace brother- Joe Ferguson

Your heroism and service is honored today, the third anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

The incident that changed a lot of peoples lives happened the day after my birthday. I was called at 5A, only thing I heard on the other end was sobbing. I knew something was horribly wrong. That day and many others to follow have been very difficult to get through because I was and am so far away in another academy. Each day an instructor talks about their classmates they have lost in the line of duty. So when birthday time comes, mixed emotions of wanting to celebrate my birthday yet knowing that my academy class mate is gone is so draining and makes me angry. It makes me angry because of the evil that people have in their spirit. Then I remember that he has always been and always will be a hero. I choose to remember the great times in that old dusty building. Brian sweating holding a fire extinguisher in each hand, arms stretched out to his sides. I choose to keep working hard and diligent. He is a true hero. My prAyers to Brian's family. Love and miss you my academy brother in blue.

Wow 3 years Huff! Today is such an emotional day. You are national news once again :-) Numerous of individuals who loved you aligned outside of the house where you went home at 3:00am this morning for vigil. They have retired your car radio number. Something that has never been done in Detroit. We will all come together to celebrate your life tonight. You have an AMAZING wife and a intelligent son. Kudos to Melissa for holding her head up high for Blair. I couldn't image what today feels like for you. Know that the entire DPD family loves you guys and were here to support you today, forever, and always :-)

See you tonight Love.

I just had tears in my eyes this morning when I watched your son stand at the front door of 20263 Schoenherr. He said he wants to take over where you left off. I gave him a hug and said to him we are all here for him, we are his family. We retired 5-14 at 5/3/2013 3:50 a.m. E.J. Said it will be retired for eternity , I thought to myself this was a long time coming. Keep watching over us while we continue to do what you loved to do. We will miss you here at Eastern. May the great Heavenly Father give you everlasting peace big brother Huff.
