I have never seen Rodney where he was unhappy at work. Rodney was the happiest officer I have ever seen on a day to day basis. He was great to talk to and was always upbeat. He always had a smile on his face especially after being assigned to the Traffic Division. I'm going to miss you Rodney.

God Bless The Holder Family

Rodney graduated the academy 6 months after me. He and I served on SWAT together for 7 years, on Patrol together for 3 years. And after several years in CID, he joined me in the Traffic Division and later on the Motors. For the past 28 years I've called him my partner, and also my best friend.

Many of you reading this know exactly what I'm talking about. A guy that you work with and grow so close to that it transcends partnership or friendship. He becomes your brother. Rodney was my brother.

Officer Mike Ricker
Abilene Police Department Traffic Division

My heart goes out to all his friends and family, I have also lost few of my brothers in the line of duty. RIP Officer Holder.

I know of no words that will suffice. No words that are adequate. I would like for the family, friends and co-workers of Officer Rodney Holder to know there are folks all across this country that will lift you up in prayer before the Almighty.
May you each experience the eternal love and endless blessings of our Lord and Savior in the coming days.
As a retired Irving, Texas PD motor jockey I know the joys as well as the dangers that come with riding a police motor. I can also attest that motor jockeys share a very special bond.
I am very sorry for your loss.

I remember Rodney coming so many times to educate
kindergarten classes at Austin Elementary about
safety and the fact that policemen care about children.
I know Rodney cared for his own family deeply. He
will be missed by so many.
