I am sick over the loss of this young Officer. While I grieve for the families and departments of lost officers around the country, it is so very painful to lose one so close to home. Kory you will be missed.

For Deputy Sheriff Kory Dahlvig:

Our duty on patrol takes us onto the truly recognized "battlefield" called a United States highway. All of the perils of war might not exist here, but the body count and injury exceeds that of any war on a continuing basis. Nobody, not even the patrol officer, is guaranteed another day when inhabiting this zone, and we regret the news of Kory being among the latest casualies reported.

We pray for his family, friends, co-workers and all who care about him. Only our Creator can account for the timing of this tragedy, as we question why it happened to one who risks himself for others.

I am proud to render Deputy Kory Dahlvig, a soldier of the law, a final salute.

Pennylvania State Police
